Jean Tobar

Paralegal

Jean Tobar is a proud alumnus of Yale University, where he earned a degree in Anthropology. His senior thesis delved into the experiences of low-income communities in the Bronx, New York, using a local shopping mall as a focal point to explore themes of economic and racial inequality. This impactful work earned Jean the prestigious Justice Carlos Moreno Prize at graduation.

During his time at Yale, Jean demonstrated a deep commitment to community building and advocacy. As a student coordinator at Yale’s Latino Cultural Center, he played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for students. He also co-led an organization dedicated to organizing events and providing mentorship for first-generation students, helping to pave the way for others navigating similar challenges.

Jean’s passion for service extended beyond campus as he volunteered at local New Haven legal clinics, supporting immigrants in navigating the complexities of the U.S. legal system. His bilingual proficiency in Spanish and his ongoing pursuit of Portuguese further reflect his dedication to connecting with and advocating for diverse communities.

With his academic achievements, leadership experience, and multilingual abilities, Jean brings a unique and invaluable perspective to his role as a paralegal.
