Jean Tobar is a proud alumnus of Yale University, where he earned a degree in Anthropology. His senior thesis delved into the experiences of low-income communities in the Bronx, New York, using a local shopping mall as a focal point to explore themes of economic and racial inequality. This impactful work earned Jean the prestigious Justice Carlos Moreno Prize at graduation.
During his time at Yale, Jean demonstrated a deep commitment to community building and advocacy. As a student coordinator at Yale’s Latino Cultural Center, he played a pivotal role in fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for students.
